Who Lucas is

Lucas is a great wizard in the Korean fantasy story Who Made Me a Princess, a web novel by Plutus adapted into a webtoon illustrated by Spoon. Wikipedia’s plot summary notes that he first appears as an adult and later as a young boy, and that his magic far exceeds that of the empire’s other sorcerers. He is also one of the few characters who sees through Athanasia’s plans.

His role grows from a mysterious stranger to Athanasia’s tutor. He also investigates the black magic and the shifts in fate that surround her. Fans often shorten the pairing to Lucathy, which is why searches for lucas and athanasia are so common.

How Lucas and Athy meet

Athanasia finds an old book that helps her practise magic after events start to differ from the novel she remembers. When she begins training, Lucas appears with a warning. Fan coverage recalls that their first encounter is hostile, with Lucas attacking her using magical bubbles before he warms to her.

The relationship becomes a partnership. The two strike a deal, and Lucas begins teaching her to control her powers. Readers enjoy the banter between a centuries-old wizard and a princess who knows how her story is supposed to end.

Saving Athanasia’s life

A key turn comes when Athanasia falls into a coma caused by excess magic in her body. Lucas saves her by drawing that mana out, and he afterwards monitors the seal placed on her powers. Without him, the princess would not survive long enough to change her fate.

Later, Lucas leaves to search for the World Tree. During a later crisis he is not there to help, and it is Claude who rushes to his daughter’s side. That moment shows how the story balances Lucas against the father-daughter relationship at its heart.

Do Lucas and Athanasia end up together?

Spoiler warning. Fan reference coverage reports that in the original web novel Athy and Lucas end up together. Their feelings are mutual, Lucas stays loyal through her troubles, and he holds back his confession until the very end.

The webtoon takes a different path. It diverges from the novel around the debutante ball, changes how Athy meets some characters, and leaves the romantic ending open, with neither Lucas nor Ijekiel clearly chosen. Its focus is Athy and Claude. If you want the Lucathy ending, read the novel.

Lucas in the anime

The story was adapted into a 16-episode Chinese animated series by Colored Pencil Animation, streamed on iQIYI from September 28 to December 28, 2025. In the Japanese dub Lucas is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto, with Sumire Morohoshi as Athanasia and Tomoaki Maeno as Claude. Fans of the pairing can follow his scenes with Athy in animated form.

Not the Athanasia dinosaur game

This wiki is mainly about a different Athanasia: a dinosaur survival horror shooter for PC that entered Steam Early Access on October 19, 2026. It has no connection to the webtoon, Lucas or the Obelian Empire. The two simply share a Greek name meaning immortality.
